A sculpture in public space settles into everyday life. Its scale, its material and where it stands determine the relationship it builds with its surroundings.
Work begins in clay or as a digital model, passes through moulding, and is cast in its final material. The material is chosen for where the work will stand and how long it must last.
A piece that will stand outdoors is finished with an eye to how it will change over the years. Patina and protective treatments are therefore inseparable from production.

Process
Sketch and maquette
The form is worked first as a sketch, then as a scale model; approval is taken at this stage.
Scaling up
The approved model is enlarged to its final scale and detailed.
Mould and cast
Moulds are taken and the work is cast or laminated in its final material.
Finishing and installation
The surface is worked, patina applied, and the piece installed with its plinth.
